Sometimes the brothers give me humble praise for pushing or demoing something for us all. Especially, with beatmaking. Well, looking and listening to the projects we dropped, now I’m learning from them.
I’ve been that,
root of beatmaking, music, & recording
cat. My man Butta was a deejay before he was he made beats. Deejaying teaches simple sonics and techniques can gain an ear than complexities. His sounds teaches me simple beat schemes.
Son Ra is an emcee/rapper first. His beatmaking style brought me back to my roots: digging for the obscure soul loops and making beats for emcees.
Djed19 reminds me when cats in the hood were the only ones playing Kraftwerk. That was not mainstream music back then. Cats were bumping song like
‘E2E4’. His styles teaches you come out you comfort zone to push limits.
I’m lucky to be surrounded by this many languages to speak in AKA being a Beat Griot.
